CONDITIONS OF SALE
The following Conditions of Sale apply to all purchases made through Sandton Auctioneers.
Only registered bidders may participate in our auctions. The highest accepted bid at the close of the auction shall be deemed the successful bid.
In the event of any dispute regarding a lot, Sandton Auctioneers reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to re-offer the lot for sale or withdraw it from the auction.
Full payment is required within five (5) business days following the close of the auction. No lots may be collected or released until payment has been received in full.
Payment may be made via EFT, debit card or credit card. American Express and Diners Club are not accepted.
Prospective buyers are responsible for satisfying themselves as to the condition, authenticity, provenance, age, dimensions and overall quality of each lot prior to bidding. Condition reports are available upon request where applicable.
Certain lots may be offered subject to a reserve price. Sandton Auctioneers reserves the right to bid on behalf of the seller up to, but not exceeding, the reserve price.
A Buyer’s Premium of 15% is payable on the hammer price, together with VAT on the Buyer’s Premium only, where applicable.
Purchased lots should be collected promptly. Lots not collected within thirty (30) days of the auction may be re-sold to recover storage and associated costs, and the purchaser shall remain liable for any resulting shortfall or expenses incurred.
Packaging, handling, shipping and insurance are the responsibility of the purchaser. Sandton Auctioneers can assist with packaging and courier arrangements upon request. Any associated costs will be for the purchaser’s account.
Lots may be stored without charge for a reasonable period while collection or courier arrangements are being finalised. Long-term storage may incur additional charges.
All lots are sold “voetstoets” (as is). While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of catalogue descriptions, Sandton Auctioneers makes no warranties or guarantees regarding the condition, completeness or suitability of any lot, and buyers are encouraged to inspect all lots before bidding.
