HOW TO REGISTER
ONLINE BIDDING
(TIMED ONLINE AUCTIONS)

Website / register and login via www.sandtonauctioneers.com
App / download the Sandton Auctioneers app through the free IOS app store or google play
How to register online
Select the “register and bid online” page under the “next auction” tab on www.sandtonauctioneers.com or simply register via the app
To register as a first time user: click “register to bid” followed by “create account”, enter the required personal details (name, email address and password) accept the “terms and conditions” and click “register”
You will then receive an approval email with your bidding paddle number.
For returning users: enter your email address and password and select “login”
Functions
You can add items to your watched lots by clicking the star icon or favourite artists by clicking follow.
Placing your bid
You can manually place bids through our website or via our app, or you can enter a commission bid and the system will automatically bid on your behalf up to your maximum amount, but only if someone bids against you.
If you are outbid you will receive an email or push notification letting you know that you have been outbid and inviting you to bid again.
If two bidders leave the same maximum bid and that increment wins the lot, the bidder who placed their bid first will win the lot.

Timed Online Auction (Pre-Bidding)
Any winning bids placed before the auction goes live will be carried over to the live auction.
Live Online Auctions – Bidding Online
Simply register in advance for the auction and once you are approved, you are ready to bid both prior to the auction and live on the auction day.
For the best chance of winning at a Live Online auction, make sure you log in to bid live when the auction starts. You’ll be joining the thrill of the event and competing against other bidders in real time. You will be able to see the auction as it progresses and place your bids as the items you want to buy come up.
Placing a Bid
So you’ve found the lot you’d like to bid on. On screen you will see the “Current bid” as well as the next bid amount (if there are no bids on the lot yet the “Opening bid” amount will show). Bid just enough to keep you in the lead up to your maximum bid.
When you place your bid, you will see on screen immediately if your bid is high enough to make you the “leading bid”. If at any point someone bids higher than your maximum bid, the on screen message will change to “You have been outbid” and we will also send you an “outbid alert”.
